Hi, I am new to cake making, and want to switch to hi ratio, but found it is expensive. I purchased a small container of Sweetex from the local cake supply store, and it was 10.99. I think it may have had only 5 cups in it? It was smaller than a crisco can.

My question is - is there a place to buy in bulk so I can get more for my money? (or a local store besides ABC? I am in Arizona).

Thx everyone.

I doubt it. I don't live in Phoenix, and I had to get mine at ABC when I was there. It's expensive, ya got that right. Thankfully, I only have use shortening based icing on rare occasions.

I purchase my Hi-Ratio from
They sell it in 4 pound and 50 pound. I buy the 4 pound. It sells for 8.99. However, shipping is 9.00. I just include it in the pricing of my cakes.
