Hi there,

I need to make a black royal icing for lining cookies and adding detail. Can you please provide a recipe or how to make it??

Thanks in advance

I don't use a special recipe, just add black gel to my RI. It takes a good bit, but if you let it sit for a few hours (covered, of course!), it will darken considerably. Never had a problem doing it this way, and I can get it really black too. HTH

i just add cocoa powder to my RI till it's a medium brown then start adding black colouring until it's black. Also if you leave it out overnight it will darken even more as the colour develops icon_smile.gif

*edited to say: what was said by the previous poster lol
