I did a search and got no forum posts on Hi
ration shortening. I noticed that one website suspends sales during the summer months and another said "order at your own risk". There is supply store about 40 miles away that sells it but I'm wondering if it is worth the trip to purchase it. How will I know that what I buy there is okay to use. Could it have been delivered in a hot truck too. I live in GA and just wanted to know if there are certain signs to look for. I ordered a cake from an individual once that didn't taste like her usually cakes. It smelled like something was rancid. I discussed it with her because I was wanting to get another a few months later. She said she didn't taste the cake or ingredients when she baked it but would investigate. I suspected the shortening was bad but she said it was a flavoring. Any help would be appreciated.
