I am new to cake decorating and have decided to make my daughter a guitar shaped cake for her birthday party. I did the practice cake yesterday and was pretty surprised at how good it looked being my first shaped cake. Anyways, I found some things I needed but don't know where to get them so I was hoping someone could help.

I need silver or grey fondant and pens to write on the fondant with a silver and lavendar color would be great. Can anyone tell me where to get dye for silver or grey fondant and cake pens I can use? We have very limited selection here.

you can color your fondant gray then dry dust it with silver luster dust or paint it with the luster dust mixed with either clear food flavor or vodka/alcohol. I painted the R2D2 head (in my photos) with nu silver luster dust (purchased at Global Sugar Art) mixed with vodka (just to the consistancy of paint).

The pens can be purchased from Global Sugar Art - Americolor has a great set.

Please let me know if you have more questions
