I started with pure white Icing (Crisco, Powdered Sugar and Clear Vanilla)..

I'm using Wilton Black Paste Color and no matter what I do, i can't get a true black icing.

It looks more like a grayish purple and gets darker the longer it sits out but just doesn't turn black.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Terry

you might want to start with chocolate or as dark brown as you can get..... that is the only way I can ever get black.

if you add some dark cocoa to it, it'll turn black! icon_smile.gif

I start out with a dark purple, and then add black.
