Has anyone used shortening made by Wesson for icing? The Sunday Dinner distributor in my area has what he described as 'cake icing shortening'. The label did not have 'hi-ratio' on it. Is this the same as Sweetex or Alpine? I do not want to purchase 50# of the stuff if it's not the same. Thanks!

Hi-ratio shortening is often referred to as "cake & icing" shortening. icon_smile.gif

I use Wesson Quik Blend everyday. It is a great shortening for icing. Your frosting will be creamy and will not leave that greasy mouth feel often found with Crisco. I use it in cake recipes and for pie crust as well.
I thnk you'll like it!!
