Please Help Me Prevent Global Disaster!! ;-)

Hi
Can anyone help me?
I'm in the middle of doing a globe cake. Have covered with blue fondant and done the countries in green fondant.
I have covered the board in dark blue with stars to look like the night sky.
My problem is I can't think what to put around the base of the cake where it joins the board.
Has anyone got any good ideas. (I've already been through the gallery)
I can't leave it with nothing as I have some (serious) covering up to do down there!
Thanks in advance!
Thanks everyone!
I went with clouds as that covered most of my messy fondant job!
will post a pic when it's finished!
have a good night/eve!
It turned out great! I do like the clouds; they make it look a little more finished, I think.
Thanks millermom!
Hopefully another time I have to do a ball cake I'll get a ball pan and then maybe it'll be a more perfect ball! - this was done using 2 pyrex bowls!
