I spent a little time yesterday (ok 2 hours ) looking at the wedding cake contest entries. I realized two very important things that I will be more aware of in the future.

1. The background behind your cake IS important. I was amazed at what goes unnoticed to the eye but not the camera. I have been guilty of this very thing. You are concentrating on getting the cake focused and give no attention to what is around/behind it.

2. Camera angle. Yes that slightly off center shot is very artistic. BUT, it does not make for good viewing. Some camera angles actually made the cakes look "wonky".

I must congratulate all the folks who entered the contest. Jobs WELL DONE! Good luck to all.

I love looking at all of the entries. All I can say is that there are some crazy talented people on here!
