im doing a grooms cake..the problem is the wedding is outdoors on a boat.they do not want fondant at all and im afraid buttercream will melt..is there any suggestions what i might be able to do..ive seen some cakes with somthing that looks like hard chocolate poured over it..would that work?? and if so does anyone have a recipe for it..thanks

Try indydebi's buttercream. The recipe is in the recipe section and it is wonderful! hth! icon_smile.gif

I have had buttercream withstand the Texas heat. I have used indydebi's buttercream modified just a little and I really like it. Can be a thick or thinner stiff consistancy and crust really well.
