Ok so my friends is doing a real small wedding and she is on a very low budget so I want to help her out and do a wedding cake for her.

Can anyone give me some helpful tips.

I am going to attempt to do a 3 or 4 tier cake. She requested red velvet with creamcheese frosting but I have never made either of the two. I always make boxed cakes and made my own buttercream frosting but I want to make her happy.

I just need ideas on storing? Transporting? maybe a good recipe?
Anything, I am nervous cause its my first time making a wedding cake and I dont want to screw this up for her.

I appreciate any feedback..thanks! icon_biggrin.gif

If you want to use box mix, use the WASC recipe with the red velvet box mix. For cream cheese, try the recipe from designmeacake.com--the crusting one.

As for transporting, you would need a reliable support system or assemble at the reception.

If you have any more questions, try using this: http://cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-forums-search.html

Good luck.
