love using bettercream in frosting but it will not work when I want to decorate cakes If you have a good recipe please help.
Cream cheese buttercream from designmeacake.com is great. Indydebi's and Seriouscakes' works great as well. If you have any hi-ratio in hand try Sugarshack's.
I don't like my bcf very sweet either. This is what I do and everyone loves it. 4lbs powdered sugar, 1 C butter, 1 C shortening, 2 tsp. salt dissolved in about 1/3 C warm water. 3 tsp. vanilla. I usually double this and it comes out great. If you need it stiffer, add more ps or less water. By making the bigger batch, it will fill a 6qt. KA and come out very smooth. Hope this helps.
