Can anyone give me any tips on putting fondant/gumpaste designs on wire? I need to know how to attach designs to the wire and what kind of wire is best to use. Any suggestions?

I just use regular floral wire. There are different thicknesses of it...the smaller the gauge number, the thicker the wire will be.

You can dip the wire in gum glue (tylose mixed with water) and then insert the wire, or heat the wire in a candle flame and insert it. The heat method is a little tidier and dries faster. I usually use the tylose and water though.

You probably know already, but don't stick the wire straight into the cake. It's not food safe. Instead, put a straw or hollow coffee stir into the cake and put the wire into that.
