You can do both. Global has a bunch of stencils but the big ones are expensive. About $60-70 each. There's also stuff at the craft stores (Michael's, ACMoore, etc.) where you can buy a stencil cutter (looks like a soldering tool) and blanks where you can draw your own design and cut it out and make one. I'm about to try to do that with an ogee design I pulled off a paper bag somewhere.
