Buttercream Gone Bad

i just try to do the sugarshack buttercream recipe, however, my mixer could not hold the entire mix so i separate it, but now the sugar doesnt seem to dilute into the shortening, what should i do??? Im a total newbie at this....

Did you use the 4 lbs. of sugar and 4 cups of shortening (as recommended in answer to your previous post) in your 4.7 qt. mixer:

Sugarshack's directions advise to cream the shortening with the liquid and then add the powdered sugar gradually until it's all incorporated:

The ingredients will fill your entire mixing bowl (above the top of the paddle) - this is fine. Just keep mixing and adding the sugar.....

i tried the whole recipe after asking directly to sugarshack but the mixer is overheated now and the consistency is not as shown in her video, even after separating the mix to give a brake to the mixer... I still can feel the grains of sugar i dont know what to do....
