Either a chocolate ganache that's whipped up or the hershey cocoa icing recipe on the side of the cocoa can.

Melt 2 cups of chocolate chips with a can of sweetened condensed milk. Add some cream if it thickens too much when it cools.

I've used JodieF's fudge filling made with sweetened condensed milk, and it's fantastic. I whip it when it's cooled and it turns out smooth & creamy. Very simple and it turns great out every time!! thumbs_up.gif

Here's something that I read about a Fudge Filling, but haven't had a chance to try out yet.

Make a regular batch of marshmallow-chocolate chip fudge. At the end add 1/2 cup of hot water to thin down the fudge into a spreadable consistency.  Use it as a filling only, not an icing.

[ When I get around to it, I'll post my results. even if it doesn't work on a cake, it'll get eaten. ]

Some people use Hershey's chocolate fudge ice cream topping. It is delicious for putting in between 2 chocolate cake layers or white cake layers. The sweetened condensed milk sounds good too.
