Orchids - Safe To Go On A Cake?

Im clueless when it comes to real flowers... a lady wants 5 orchids on a 2 tier cake...... how would i put them on if they cannot come in contact with the cake? Can they touch the cake?

I had a couple of other sites bookmarked that said the same thing, but evidently those articles have moved because my bookmarks don't work anymore (which should teach me to cut-n-paste 'em to a word file!)

I had a bride asking and I thought they were on the list of toxic flowers, but found a few sites that indicated otherwise.

Looking forward to any info that other CC'er may have on this floral.
