Cupcake Bouquets

I saw the little tutorial several posts down. Is this how everyone does them? (with the popsicle sticks in styrofoam) How do the cupcakes not slide right off or thru the sticks?

I do them w/toothpicks in florists foam (two per standard size cuppie)...I'd never had a problem with them sliding until my most recent bouquet, I don't think that particular recipe was dense enough.
