hello... do gumpaste really soften when put on buttercream??? i made some gumpaste decorations to put on my cupcakes... i let them dry and harden... when i put them on top of the buttercream icing...they this normal?? thanks so much in advance icon_smile.gif

First off, I don't use buttercream, I use fondant, but, if the decorations are completely dry it should take quite a while for them to soften. I mean many days, maybe weeks. But for sure, the oil in buttercream will be absorbed by the gumpaste, eventually. Try drying the pieces longer, days rather than hours. HTH and good luck for the future.
