Does anyone know if you can freeze a cake once it's been iced? I need it to keep for about 3 days.

I have frozed cakes but they sweat when you get them out. I would just refrigerate it or just cover it. Three days isnt that long. thumbsdown.gif

Yes you can freeze a cake after you have decorated it I do it all the time just remember to get it out in time for the cake to thaw before serving. Your icing may look like it is getting runny so try to keep it in a cool place and let it thaw slowly you should be fine . icon_smile.gif Hope this helps

I have frozen cakes decorated in buttercream. (I use the buttercream dream recipe) I put it in the box, wrap it in saran wrap and place in freezer. You can take it out to thaw but do not open the box until it is completely thawed. I have opened the box prior to it being completely thawed and the cake ended up with condensation on it icon_sad.gif
