...Will it darken over time? I know the reds will usually deepen and darken as they sit...made my BC last night and it's still not dark enough. Added more...still not NAVY...have the cake due at 12...aagh!
TIA!!!
Lots of royal blue until you get a dark blue then start adding black..You will need a fair bit but it will turn navy!!
I usually add a small amount of black to the blue to get a darker color. I don't know if this is the right way or not. I am new at this. Good luck!
Try adding a small dab of black. Yes it will darken with time. For future reference, Americolor's navy is great! HTH
THANK YOU all! Came out ok, finally! WHEW! Needed to be Yankee blue for a graduation cake w/pinstripes...finally darkened with a little black and little patience!
Ok, done freaking out now... Thank you!!
I'm glad it worked out for ya. Next time you need navy blue I'd pick up some Americolor Navy. It is a great navy color.

Thanks! I actually was using the Americolor Navy (shoulda said that. ...but I just needed more, I guess!
Thanks so much for the tips, folks!! Here's a pic of my 'navy' Yankees/Graduation cake. It definitely darkened up over time. Worked out great. (Those pinstripes were a PITA though...way harder to get them straight than I anticipated!)
