I have a wedding cake for July 11th, wedding is at 4:30 w/the reception directly following the ceremony. What time would you go to the hall and set up the cake? It's a 3 tier, red velvet, buttercream filling and fondant. The hall is air conditioned. I would just have to assemble it there, any advice?

You could probably go at 2, 2:30 or 3 and be fine.

I have one next weekend. It starts at 7. I'm going to get there about 6. I'm also a guest at the wedding though. I would take it earlier if I weren't going to be a guest.

I traditionally set up 1 hour prior to when the guests will arrive at the reception venue. If the wedding is at the same place, I set up one hour prior to the wedding. It only takes me 5-15 minutes, tops, to set up a cake and that includes the ones that are delivered unassembled and need a border added.
