Iso: Strawberry Cake Mix Recipe
Decorating By twingirls05 Updated 16 Jun 2009 , 4:19pm by twingirls05
I am looking for a good recipe that uses a strawberry cake mix. I love the sour cream cakes, but haven't seen a strawberry one. Anyone have one they like?
There was a thread earlier today. One person used pureed strawberries in place of the liquid in the WASC, and no almond extract. Another used strawberry dacquiri mix and cut the sugar to one cup in the WASC.
If you go to the "recipe tips and ideas" section of this forum there is a thread about scratch strawberry recipes. A couple of people posted cake mix strawberry recipes.
I did the one with the fresh strawberries.
Do WASC cake...minus almond. Put a package (quart) of fresh strawberries sliced in a baggie with about 1/3 cup sugar. Let them sit until their juices flow out (in warm area is best). Puree them in your blender and use them in place of your water. (same measurement though...if you are short from the measurement then add water).
I think it is great and I hate strawberry cake!
this is macsmoms recipe its a wasc I made it recently, its good. it would be awesome with a strawberry filling I imagine too.
for a normal recipe I cut it in half otherwise its a gigantic amount of batter with the 2mix version.
instead of sourcream I substituted strawberry yogurt. in place of water in this you could also use strawberry soda. the more strawberry ingredients the better.
Strawberry WASC variation - MacsMom

This is the recipe I use:
Strawberry WASC

2 cups flour
1 package of intstant cheesecake pudding
1-1/2 t salt
1 cup strawberry daquiri drink mix
1 2/3 cups of strawberry puree

Thanks everyone! These are perfect! I'll have to go with the strawberry margarita mix one...I have plans for the leftover mix *wink wink*!
