No matter what I do, I cant seem to either find or submit a photo for an avatar. What am I doing wrong? TIA

idk...I'm having the same problem. I'm not a computer person and I can't seem to get my pic small enough.

Same problem here!! I posted on this last week or the week before and someone told me to use photo bucket. ( I don't use photbucket so I have been waiting on my daughter to do this LOL)

This was on the forum May 28, 2009. I had the same problems. Thanks to Jammjenks, she posted this website:
www.shrinkpictures.com/create-avatar/. Shrink the picture to 80 pixels. Copy to your computer to your photo program. Title is Avatar. Go back to your profile to the bottom to avatar. click browse button, go to pictures, click on the title "Avatar" or what ever title you gave the tiny picture, it is real small. Looks like a pin point. Then click submit. I hope this works!

I'll keep an eye here. Try the shrink pictures site, and post here if it doesn't work for you. Perhaps I can help.
The avatar here can be up to 110 x 110 pixels, 6 KB maximum.

Glad I saw this! I have been having an issue with uploading my pic as well. It worked for me too. Yippy!! It is the small things. Thanks for everyone's help!
