Question About The Cakes With A Piece Cut Out

do you cover the whole piece in fondant and what supports that piece?and keeps it from collapsing? does the fondant give it enought support to set on its own on top of the cake..

you could send some pm's to creators to find out how they did it.
id support the piece of cake, if its a thick cake, it will be heavy, and its a lot of fondant. i dont know about covering the whole thing, what ever seems to be working t the time!

you could always just use a few dowels with a small piece of card supporting the bulk of the weight.
