Gingham And Stripe Help Please!

Can anyone give me any ideas on how to create this stripe and the gingham pattern like on the plate below??? The only thing I can think of is to paint it... ugh... please tell me someone has a better idea!!!

no one has any other suggestions?? Oh well.. I guess I'll be painting fondant....

there are stencils for that available...airbrush or paint it on...



or edible image...find a pattern you like or make one similar to the one you want, print off the paper and take to your nearest bakery that's willing to print one for you if you don't have an ei printer.
