I recently made some fondant decorations using pastel pink and blue coloring - they are probably a week & a half finished and the pink has totally disappeared (color). Will mixing 50/50 gumpaste with the fondant help it to retain it's color? I've never had this happen before, but I've never made decorations this far in advance either.

Thanks,
Lily

no, gumpaste wont make a difference, pinks and purples are very unstable colours, its got something to do with the red pigments. Bright light will fade the colours. The best is to keep them in a box away from light, but even then you will have some fading. The only way to keep the colours vibrant is to make the items as late as possible.
