a 9x13 (1/4 sheet) will feed about 24 with 2x2 slices, so that would only feed close to 75. You would need 3 - 1/2 sheets that feed 54 (2x2 slices) each to get to 150.

No.

Let's do the math.

Standard serving for a single layer cake is 2x2x2 (yours will be a little taller because of the torting but that wont' change the surface area).

9x13 .... cut in 2x2 squares means you will cut approx 4 rows by 6 columns = 24 servings. If you have three of these, you will get 75 servings.

A 12x18 serves 54. You will need three of these to get 150 servings.

Hi SUUMEME. What if you do 2 layers for each cake, then cut 1x2" slices instead of 2x2" servings to yield your 150 servings? I guess it would mostly depend on who was cutting and serving. But if it was you, you know it would be reliable thumbs_up.gif

That will work. You'll have to bake six of the 9x13's, but it will work.

Thanks for all the help you guys! I used a box and a half per pan so the 9x13's are thick. I have and extra 9x13 (a 4th), what if I cut that cake length wise and added it to the top of the three 9x13's?

This is starting to sound like a Frankenstien cake. Can cakes be pieced together like this and still make a safe drive to the venue with out fear of them splitting apart?? This cake has me so stressed!!! I will never again say I can make a sheet cake to feed 150!!

I'm I understanding that you only made three 9x13s? If so, your back to 75 servings. They would need to be 2 layers each (6 total cakes) to equal 150 servings.

hehehe....Frankenstein icon_razz.gif that makes me giggle icon_biggrin.gif

Oh, I just thought of one more thing...I use 1 2/3 recipes for a 9x13" to yield a 2" layer. But that's my kitchen. HTH.
