I'm pretty new at cake decorating and have a question. I am doing an anniversary cake this weekend and I need the color gold not the yellow gold. Any ideas or suggestions. Thanks

well i would say order online...maybe overnight some gold spray. I like cakesbysam.com it is $10.
if you live in a larger town maybe there is a larger cake supply store you can purchase it at

if your just doing small areas I know michaels carries gold pearl dust...i use a small brush and vodka and paint with it

There's two shades of Wilton, a gold shade and a yellow sparkle shade. The gold one looks gold, but not nearly as gold-looking as the dusts they sell at the cake decorating supply shop.

What you need is Highlighter dust. It is the only way to get a true gold color.
You mix it with something like Vodka and paint it on. It is available on line OR at cake supply shops. You will NOT find it at places like Micheal's or Hobby Lobby.
