I am doing another wedding cake in July. 3rd wedding in 4 months and I only do this for "fun" ... She wants fondant and I don't "do" fondant, but I do love a challenge. I read a thread about using ganache instead of buttercream under the fondant - tried it this weekend and it turned out great!

On to my question. I am looking for a source for white chocolate - someplace close enough to have it shipped and not take 3-7 days OR for me to drive and get it. Austin or Houston would probably be my only options for driving, but it should be able to be shipped from almost anywhere in Texas. I had looked into ordering online, but I would be paying $40+ for 2 day shipping and that is just too expensive for me.

Advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. BTW, I am going to post this in a cake forum too, so I apologize if you are reading it twice.

Have you looked at Trader Joe's? They used to carry white Ghirardelli chocolate in bulk. Whole Foods does too.
