Or do I just swirl the spatula until it looks like this?

And how do you think this would look with a pearl border?

One more, the cake will be 1 layer of yellow cake between 2 layers of chocolate cake. I was thinking of a chocolate whipped cream filling. How do you think that would taste? With a fluffy white frosting? Thanks!

Just swirl the spatula, and your flavors sounds great, I think it will work.

Use your shorty cake spatula and do a "swoop" stroke, over lapping and moving in rows, from bottom to top. I learned that from my beloved Gramma when I was just a little girl......thinking on that makes me long to sit at her kitchen counter and stick my finger in the frosting bowl while she ices a yummy cake she has made.....it would be so nice. icon_wink.gif
