I am a very religious person and when I started making cakes I refused to make any dirty adult cakes but I have a family member who wants me to make a playboy bunny cake, my question is do you all think that that falls in the same catagory. If I say no than she will get mad and I don't want to have trouble with her but I also don't want to go against my religious believes. Would likes some opinions.

I'm not going to say it falls in the same catagory; that's for you to decide. I think if you do the bunny head that represents playboy I think it would be just like doing a Easter cake.

The bunny is kind of iconic, and IMO, the "porn" part of it doesn't really come into play. At the end of the day, though, you have to do what you think is right. Perhaps talking to a religious leader may help you make the right decision for yourself.

I agree with yummu, i dont think it falls in the same catagory. It is completley up to you, dont do it if it makes you feel un-comfortable.

I don't think there's anything wrong w/ the request, but only you can say if making this cake will be in conflict w/ your beliefs. If it's not, no problem. If it is, then saying no is the only way to go no matter what 'trouble' you might be in...

I agree, I don't find that it falls under the same category. But how do you feel about it? Do you feel uncomfortable making this cake? If you do, then you shouldn't make it just so this person doesnt get upset. It's your personal beliefs that are in play here. If you feel okay about it, then go ahead.

Good luck with whatever you decide! icon_biggrin.gif

In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with the iconic "Bunny". I guess I look at it like "Would I let/want my kids to see this?" If it was porn the answer would obviously be "No." I would have no problem with them seeing the silly bunny wearing a goofy bow-tie.

Ultimately it needs to be your decision. If you are not comfortable making this cake, your family member should be respectful enough to understand. Good luck in your decision.

I do not consider the bunny to be pron or "adult only". However, if you feel uncomfortable or feel like it is against your religious views, then even to keep peace, do not make the cake. If you make one cake that is against your guideline then you will have to continue to do others. Sometimes it is not worth the fight, sometimes it is. That is a decision only you can make. Often, a good judge is to ask yourself, "would I want my pastor to see this and know I made it?" Your answer should be your guideline as to rather to make the cake.

It's not a matter of "falling in the adult category", It's a matter of your comfort zone. If you are uncomfortable making it, then don't. Remember it's your "belief" not ours.

LOL!! The Easter Bunny and the Playboy Bunny are NOT the same thing!!

Just the fact that you posted this question tells me you're not comfortable making this cake. You have a right to turn down any order that you're not comfortable with. I too will not make questionable suggestive cakes.

While I'll agree the Playboy Bunny isn't exactly pornographic, it does represent an industry that you're not comfortable supporting.

Tell your family member that you don't make this sort of cake design, but you'd be happy to make another design if they'd like.
