I need to know what to use for the stems of flowers. I watched a video that showed wire being used. However, I think I remember seeing an episode of Challenge on the Food Network & they said wire isn't used with real cake. What is okay to use?

I use wire but don't stick it into the cake. You can stick it into a straw with some royal icing inside and put that in the cake. I think pretty much everybody uses floral wire.
