Anyone pay to advertise on this site? They sent the info and it is less than I am currently paying for The Knot (not that I would ever cancel!), but not sure if it is worth it. Thanks!

Can I ask how much you pay at The Knot and what MyWedding.com wants you to pay. I'm just curious. I'm a hobby caker!

I pay $100 p/month for The Knot, and it looks like mywedding.com has packages at $300, $600, $900 p/year.

Wow. I can't afford The Knot. I generally do about 90-100 wedding cakes a year. Can I ask what your volume is for wedding cakes?

Thanks for the info!

LeahS - could you just run an ad in The Knot here and there? Like run it in January and then maybe in July? Just a thought. =o)

Right now I'm at about 60 weddings for this year. While $100 p/month is quite a bit, it has by far paid for itself. Last year was my first full year in business and I did 26 weddings; so far this year I have more than doubled my bookings. I am now getting my name out there and getting more and more referrals, and hoping to drop it after 2 more years, but for now find it too beneficial as a new business competing with lots of bakers!

I can't recall what year (last year or the year before) but I paid $1200 to the Knot and got over $7000 worth of business from it. As long as I stay in the black, I'm keeping my ad.

I've had an ad for over 5 years, so I'm grandfathered.
