can someone tell me how to use a stencil with icing on a cake. I have seen some doing it with powederd sugar. Thanks.
You will need to use a crusting icing and allow it time to crust really well. Then lay the stencil on and smear the icing on the stencil. I use a stoneware scraper that Pampered Chef sells and just put a thin layer on. Be sure to pull off the stencil carefully and straight up.
After the bc crusts, lay the stencil on and gently press near the "holes" if the stencil isn't too stiff. If it's too stiff, use a toothpick to outline everything. Lift the stencil then outline and fill in with frosting.
