thanks guys! yep, it's my first really big wedding cake. i did my wedding cake for course 3 for wilton about 3 years ago, did a country western (waaaay smaller) wedding cake last month and then this one.
I have done a million and one birthday and sheet cakes, i sooooooo prefer the wedding cakes!
That is so, so gorgeous!!!!!!!! You should be very proud of yourself! BTW, tell us about the flavors, please.
Your cake is amazing! It's so good, it's hard to believe it's your first wedding cake! You should be super happy!
A really great job! I especially like the unique way the pillars are set offset from each other. It somehow adds some dimension to the look! I luv it!
thank you so much. i felt great about it but it sure is nice hearing that others like it too. i can't wait to hear what the bride thought...
indydeb... i did the pillars off like that because i didn't want it so symmetrical... do you think it looked weird? should i have put them straight?
I love the scroll work!! Did you freehand or did you use a template/stencil? It is absolutely beautiful! Great things are in store for you!
I think if you had not had the space filled full with flowers, it could have looked "odd". But, no, I really like the look. It adds a little pizazz .... a different look. Not "run of the mill".
You know me ... I call 'em as I see 'em and if I didn't think it looked good, I wouldn't have said so!
thanks indydeb... i should know that by now
klat.. it is all freehand, piped with a number 5 and 67.
