I am wanting to make a Abby Cadabby figure. The question I have is, Should I do it in fondant, gumpaste or both? Would anyone recommend what brand of gumpaste is the best? Any tips on how to do her hair? Thanks so much.

Hi there, I would go for 50/50 mix of fondant and gumpaste. Not sure about the brands you've got there.

I've used fondant with gum-tex, fondant with tylose and fondant mixed with gumpaste, as well as just gumpaste. I use Wilton's Fondant and Wilton's Gum paste.

I would not suggest just using fondant since it takes longer to dry your shapes often distort a little before they dry. I would say you probably don't want to use straight gum paste if it is for something you will have to play with the shape for since gumpaste dries rather fast and you may end up with cracks from it drying while you are shaping it.
