Is luster dust & petal dust the same & do you just paint on pearl glaze to make a dress shiney? icon_confused.gif

This is the info I got from a fellow caker here:

Petal dust gives you a matte finish and it's great for coloring flowers.

Luster dust and pearl dust give a shimmery effect.

Pearl dust + petal dust = luster dust.

I have a question too. Is there a neutral colour I can use that will look good on all coulours of fondant and gumpaste?
IE: Do I have to buy a separate colour of luster dust for each colour of fondant?

I get the pearl white super lustre dust. Ive used it on my bassinet cake (in my pics). to make it look like satin. I also used it on my draping and pearls. It doesnt change the color of your fondant.
