Has anyone added glycerine to his recipe?

I have been using Nick's gumpaste recipe and find it works well, but curious if glycerine would make it more workable and less fragile once dried?

Has anyone tried this before?

I keep finding recipes other than his, that call for glycerine and am very curious as to how this enhances the gumpaste.

Any thoughts are much appreciated!
