Hello my fellow cakers!
Around May 5th, my 10yr. old computer was laid to rest, she just couldn't do no more. I got my new pc today, going to take a while to get used to it.
I have miss not getting to check out CC, went through my withdraws and now I have fallen off the bandwagon and getting my CC fix now with the new pc......but also sad to say when the old pc went, she took with her all my pics of my grandbabies, cakes I had did (that I had yet to post on CC) and all my fav cake web sites, youtube videos I had saved and so much more.
Sooo, my question is....can you all please post some links to some cake sites, cake stores/supplies or any other web sites to do with decorating or cake toys....I for one would very greatful!
There maybe a chance for me to get my photo's so I am keeping my fingers cross
God Bless,
Sharon
p.s. It's great to be back!
Thanks Sharon for the welcome back!
LOL, yeap...the old pc bite the dust. The sad thing is that I lost so much info and the biggest thing is pics of my babies .
If it wasn't for CC, I wouldn't have any of my cake pics...Thank Goodness for CC and the "my photos", or I wouldn't have them.
I hope I can get back my pics also
God Bless,
Sharon
That happened to me last month I took my old computer to Best Buy and they got everything back for me for about 100 bucks.
I had about 4000 pictures of my grand kids and a few of my cakes plus they got all of my favorites back so I still have all my cake web sites.
I am very happy now.
Well welcome back! I don't know what I would do if I was sans computer for that long... And that's a good reminder to back everything up - like all of my pictures of my 2.5 year old and 1 year old that are stored on my computer + all of my cake recipes. What would I do if I couldn't retrieve those???
Anyway, you asked for links, and I have a bazillion saved... Here are some:
Supplies:
Obviously, Global Sugar Art

And then there are the inspiration sites... The cakes I hope I can make "someday", and all pretty much found here on CC:

WOW! that great dg10148, that you were able to get your stuff back. We don't have a Best Buy here, but we have a Staples. I will have to call them and see if they can do that for me.
Thanks for this information, I hope something like this can done for me. I would be so happy just to get photos of my babies back.
God Bless,
Sharon
My pc crashed last month due to an anti virus/ trojen issue. it wasn't pretty. I couldn't even turn the thing on. But all my stuff was still in there and he got it all out for me, fixed the problem and re-laoded my system. I bet all your stuff is in there and they can get it. Depending on the amount it may cost more but it's worth it for things you can't replace!
just a side note...you might want to invest in an external harddrive...you can get them about anywhere electronics are sold...my husband bought me one because i take alot of pics...so whenever i empty my memory card off i store it on that hard drive instead of the pc's hard drive...and when your pc crashes you dont lose your important stuff...most plug right into a usb so you can take it anywhere it has been a lifesaver for me
WOWWWWWWWW! THANKS! so much ThreeDGirlie for all the links. We thought we had back everything up, but sad to say...we didn't do something right...we are not very pc smart
Again thanks for the links! I agree Sadsmile, it would be way worth it, just to get my babies photos and videos od them back.
Thanks Oneyracing for the information about the ex/harddrive. I saw a thing about a week ago on TV. It was a thing you plug into your pc and could back up everything on it. Very easy to use, the best thing about it, is that you could just plug it into any pc and them go through the stuff you just back up and pick what you wanted to put on a new pc or another pc.
It was very very nice thing, and it was alittle over $125.00. I hope when I can, I can get one of them.
God Bless,
Sharon
Now I have to get using to this new pc and using Vista, but looking at the cakes on a 22in. widescreen is AMAZING!
you can get them cheaper...my husband bought one at walmart for like 60 bucks...works the same...he travels alot so he uses it to put music and stuff on...and when he is over seas since he cant watch thier tv or anything...it plugs right into his laptop..most work about the same though
