(would love to hear your comments too!)
You both are incredibly talented, I know it will be tough to pick a favorite...
::THEME:: *ANNIVERSARY/WEDDING*
CONTESTANT A: "It's 10" and 6" cakes covered in fondant. The top tier has paisley impressions on it, done by using impression mat. There are 60 flowers around the cake, and pearls too. They are made with gumpaste. The colors are red, pale pink, peach and cyclamen (Burgundy). The pearls are dusted with Pearl Lustre Dust. And the whole cake is sprayed with PME Pearl Lustre spray."
CONTESTANT B: "The cake is covered in fondant and embellished with buttercream, reverse scrolls, and string work. The roses and leaves are made from gumpaste."
(voting will end 5/26/2009) GOOD LUCK LADIES!!!!
Both these cakes are great! I like the glittery effect of the top one, and the swag work on the bottom one. Both did an amazing job on the roses!
Good luck to both contestant. Both are worthy cakes made by skilled artists. The one I voted for was chosen purely based on my own personal style preference.
Wow they are both beautiful.......................where is Simon Cowell when you need him
They are both beautiful...and very similar, so it's hard to choose. The only reason I;m leaning towards #2 is the composition of the cake. The triangular silhouette is more streamlined. Just a quirk of mine, but as I said...they are both so pretty....
They both have their good points. The roses look more natural on one and I like the balance of color. The other has a lot of good qualities when taken seprately but a little over the top when put all together.
Please don't get offended it is just my prefrence and one opinion, my work is nowhere close to yours. I would certainly eat both of them!!! Good luck to you both
both are amazing....but based on my our personal preference i lean more towards contestant A....love the classic elegence....
very nice cakes. i *love* the colorful roses on the first cake, as well as the style. however, i really *love* the realistic roses on the second one. hard one!
Contestant B's roses are more realistic and she/he added leaves which i like. But the borders are simmplisic. However contestant a's style on the fondant is really pretty, top flowers are nice but a bit too many in the middle- makes me think "whats being hidden..Still a hard choice.
I absolutely love both of these cakes, the flowers on both are so beautiful!
KEEP THE VOTES COMING GOOD LUCK LADIES!!
There's only a couple more days for voting. I know on past throwdowns, over 300 people voted...so PLEASE VOTE!!!!! Thanks everyone
I love both of them, hope some day I will be that good!!!!!!

Hi everyone, thank you so much for voting and thank you Daisy cakes for being an excellent contender. And I love your roses which are brilliant! Well Done!
Sugarwishes, thank you for hosting the throwdown for us.
Again, thank you everyone!
These are my favorite style cakes - 10 and 6 inch and I always go for cakes with roses. I picked "A" as I thought it was beautiful and I loved the pearls and the paisley imprint on the fondant.
