as you all know by now (because i keep repeating it over and over) i am making a guiter cake (full size) My husband has taken on the task of the neck. (non edible) he has glued several pieces of foam board together and is carving the neck out of the foam board. I want to then cover the neck in fondant, attach my tuning keys, frets, and strings (silver quilting thread) BUT........do I use piping gels to adhere the fondant to the foam board? does anything stick to foam board...........is this not a good idea? somebody tell me now before its too late. If I have much trouble I,m just gonna saw the neck off my husbands guitar and attach that!!! LOL!

Piping gel will work. Water will work but may make more of a mess. Just use very little gel to adhere and you should be just fine.

Thank you! Problem solved, but I'm sure I'll think of something else!
