I am going to make this filling today but just realized it doesn't specifically say what to do to the strawberries. Do I mash them, slice them? It's probably a matter of preference but I'm not sure what they did to them. I pm'd the one that posted it but I never got a response yet so I thought I could get some quick responses here. TIA

I checked the recipe and I think if you are going to use it as a filling you could finely slice the strawberries and that would give you firm bits in the filling. If you wanted a smoother filling, they you could mash them. For easier slicing of the cake, the smoother filling would probably be better choice.
