I just discovered the website called cakedecoratingwithdonna and wondered if anyone was a member of it? It costs $210.00 a year to join. Is it worth it? Thanks!

I haven't checked it out but you can get most any cake question answered by experts any time of day right here for free. I'm not sure what the website offers but...I would invest my $210 in an air brush or something--but again I never checked it out. Just a thought.

You'd want to be specific when you ask questions here.

From what I saw of the site...........NO..............you can learn just as much (or more) here..........and I'd spend the $200 on an airbrush, too!!!!!

Personally with the tutorials here and their youtubes this is where it is at. You can buy DVDs to Like Sharon's and Aine2 and a few others for way less then that site.

Welcome Kim! I have been all over the cake internet and I agree that Cake Central has to be the best resource for cake decorating/cake baking. flikr is nice for the photos too, but the info you gain here from the forums is by far the best there is.

There is one other source you might want to check out - you can get 1 free month and then stop - not a problem. It's Yummy Arts. They have a library of "books" which are videos showing you how to do things.

One of their decorators is Susan Carberry and she did her first cake decorating class in 1997 and today owns a cake shop, does demonstrations nationally, and is featured in magazines and Food Network. She seems very down-to-earth, and her videos makes it seem like you're sitting in her kitchen.

The contact I've had with them has all been positive.

Have fun and welcome to CC! I have met some of the nicest people I know on this site! icon_smile.gif

P.S. I have to tell you though this site is addicting! I got on this am and was on for 3 1/2 hours before my husband was having a cow (I can't blame him); he's at the store and I'm back on icon_smile.gif
