I got news at work this week that a position is opening up at the Charleston, South Carolina office of my company. It's going to be open until filled, with no active recruitment, so I do have some time to think on this. Since I'm newly single, I'm thinking that this might be the opportunity I've been waiting for. I've always wanted to move down south, since vacationing there a few years ago.

So, does anyone live around Charleston? What can you tell me about the area? If you were looking at moving there today, would you, or would you avoid it totally? Any tips, good or bad, will help me alot.

I think Charleston is beautiful! My mother moved from there last year to be closer to family. I'm bummed that she left b/c I love going there. There are so many things to do: the plantations, the market, and the Battery. And the beach. The cost of living is pretty reasonable too. If I had to move today, I definitely would. The weather is nice too. Good luck with your decision.
