Need Some Help Please, White Chocolate Whipped Topping?

I'm making a pineapple upside down cake tomorrow and wanted to give it an extra yummy. I ususally just put whipped topping (you know, the stuff in the tub that can stay in the freezer) in between the layers and on top. But, I was wondering if I could melt white chocolate and maybe mix some powdered sugar in the whipped topping...? What do you all think? Or even if you have another suggestion.

Cool Whip doesn't take kindly to too much mixing; it has a tendency to liquify. So I don't think adding melted white chocolate will work well....

I normally don't frost pineapple upside down cake, so I can't help you there.
