I saw a picture online that looked like they had furled the edges of a royal icing rose. Would you use your fingers or a paint brush? Would you wait until it crusted slightly? The picture I was looking at is found at...

I pinch the edges of my piped daffodils... using a little cornstarch on my fingers.... I would think you could do this same thing with the rose petals. Just brush off any cornstarch after they are dry.

HTH!

Is the same techniue that you use in your Wilton classes with the Daffodils. And you can use the Victorian Rose tip, wich curls it too..

Thanks everyone for your replies. I love the look of the curled edges, more realistic and yet hopefully quicker to do than a gumpaste rose! I have a wedding cake coming up in July with 4 tiers of cascading roses so I need LOTS of roses!!! I love gumpaste roses but the customer doesn't want the expense so I'm hoping this will be a better option for them.

Hi, the Victorian Rose tip is # 97. Michaels, AC Moore both sell them and of course on the Wilton.com site. are just some of the few. HTH
