I was practicing for this cake next weekend and am unhappy with dora's face, I would like it to be smooth.
I tried the viva papertowel as well as conf sugar on a small brush with no luck.
Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks

What method did you use for her face? Is it a frozen buttercream transfer, or did you just pipe it on?

No this is not a bc transfer. I piped the image on with piping gel and then filled it in. I'm sorry, I thought I mentioned that.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Is the surface beneath her face smooth? That might make a slight difference. Other than what you've already tried i'm not really sure what to tell you. It might just be a one time thing, maybe itll be better next time.

Good Luck!

Hi,
Don't know if this will be of any help to you now -- bit slow in replying on CC today! anyways... when I did my friend's Dora cake, I did it with floodwork... turned out pretty smooth... they were all duely impressed anyways!

I think your cake looks fabulous! icon_lol.gif What's wrong with texture? I personally wouldn't change it. thumbs_up.gif
