I want to make some gumpaste roses without wires or toothpick. I want to just lay them on one part of the cake.

Just make some cones the day before and you can build them directly onto the cones. They will be fine for laying on the cake.

There are some fantastic tutorials on YouTube by CC members Tonedna and Aine2 who can walk you thru the steps for making roses ~ they are just fantastic. HTH

I think that will be difficult, as the wire/toothpick is what you hold on to as you apply and arrange the petals.

If you use a toothpick, you can twist it out pretty easily once you're done making the rose.

Hi, the easiest is to use a 5 petal cutter. Here is a link to aine2's video.

Hi, i make the rose on u-tube with the seperate pedals, 10 and 2 small, the plus with the wire is hanging them upside down, but i have taken the wire and stuck it through about midway like in the middle of the cone sideways and that works to. remember use very little water, or gumpaste/water mix.
