I am in the middle of making a gumpaste flower arrangement using a styrofoam ball cut in half covered in mm fondant. I am not done with it so I am storing in a cartdboard box to protect from dust and light. Does it need to be put in fridge?

No it doesn't need to be refrigerated, just bear in mind the MMF may harden some, so you may have a harder time arranging the flowers later, but you can use a skewer or something to pilot holes as you need them.
