I have a question regarding baking in the oven icon_smile.gif

I have a large cupcake order I got tonight FOR TOMORROW.. yes, you read correctly. Anywho.. how many of you w/ regular ole' home ovens bake cake layers or cupcakes on two different racks to save time? Is there a big different in time it takes them to be finished, etc?

Any help or suggestions welcomed icon_smile.gif

I have but don't do it often. make sure there is plenty of room around all pans so heat can circulate. the ones on the bottom rack seems to bake faster (why, when heat rises, is this so, don't know) good luck

I have tried putting a cupcake tin with leftover batter on the bottom rack while my cakes baked on the top rack on two occasions... Both times the bottoms were burnt or dried out before the cucakes were even cooked through.

I don't do that any more.
